Visit visas for citizens of Australia, Canada, and United States
The Brazilian Government has decided to resume the requirement of visiting visas for citizens of Australia, Canada, and the United States. The decision was taken after consultations with these three countries on the possibility of granting visa exemptions to Brazilian nationals, in compliance with the principle of reciprocity.
The measure will come into effect on April 10th 2025.
In order to ensure that everyone travels on their scheduled dates and to avoid any inconvenience to American passport holders, the Brazilian government has decided to extend the tourist visa waiver until April 10, 2025. After this date, all U.S. passport holders will be required to obtain a visa to travel to Brazil. Travelers entering the country before April 10, 2025, may stay for the entire duration of their visit without a visa, regardless of their departure date.
