Overview

  • Entry is allowed by air only (except transit and freight traffic), for certain countries listed in the Entry and Health Requirements section, provided that they present a valid proof of vaccination or recovery from COVID-19.

    Entry is permitted for those holding a residence or work permit, students, diplomats and immediate family members of Azerbaijani citizens who will be required to confirm the degree of kinship on the basis of a document and repatriation flights

    Travellers who have obtained special permission from the Cabinet of Ministers may also travel to Azerbaijan.

    All land borders are closed

  • There is no quarantine requirement at this time.

    There is no testing requirement for fully vaccinated travellers. All fully vaccinated or recovered travellers (countries permitted entrance are listed below), must present certified proof of vaccination or certified proof of recovery and immunity (at least 14 days and less then 6 month before departure), both with QR codes attached. Children under the age of 18 are exempt from this requirement.

    All unvaccinated travellers must present certified proof from a doctor providing medical reason why they cannot be vaccinated (COVID counter-instruction certificate). Children under the age of 18 are exempt from this requirement.

    Foreign nationals who fail to meet these requirements will be refused entry into Azerbaijan.

    All travellers could be tested upon arrival. All symptomatic travellers will be directed to the medical station at the airport and reported to the Emergency Medical Services.

    Travellers arriving from and are nationals and residents of Albania, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, Brunei, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cuba, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong SAR, Hungary, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mainland China, Malaysia, Maldives, Malta, Mexico, Moldova, Morocco, Mongolia, Montenegro, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Panama, Peru, the Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, the United States, Uruguay, Uzbekistan and Venezuela are permitted entry.

    The Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan recommends to travellers to carry medical insurance to cover treatment in case of a Coronavirus in Azerbaijani territory.
